10 Settings
10.1 Activating Insight Control server provisioning
Licensed customers must register Insight Control server provisioning by retrieving a key via an HP
web address and entering the key via the Insight Control server provisioning UI.
Until you activate Insight Control server provisioning, a link is displayed in the Recommended
actions list, available from the Help menu in the banner.
You only have to activate Insight Control server provisioning one time; once Insight Control server
provisioning is activated, the link is removed from the Recommended actions list.
Procedure 42 To activate Insight Control server provisioning
1. Select the activate Insight Control server provisioning link from the Recommended actions list,
available from the Help menu in the banner.
NOTE: If Insight Control server provisioning has already been activated, the link will no
longer appear in the list of Recommended actions.
2. From the Activate Insight Control server provisioning page, select the link to acquire the
activation key and follow instructions.
3. Enter your Activation key on the Activate Insight Control server provisioning page.
4. Select Activate.
NOTE: If you are unable to activate the appliance, contact HP Support.

Table 51 General appliance information
This is the host name of the appliance. If you are supplying a DNS server, this host name must
be fully qualified. From a supported browser, you can navigate to the appliance using this name
or by using the appliance IP address.
Appliance host
name
The Insight Control server provisioning virtual machine appliance will read IC server
provisioning.
Model number
The Insight Control server provisioning software version. This number is used to determine whether
upgrades are valid and to decide whether backups are compatible.
Firmware version
The release date for the Firmware version.Firmware date
Table 52 IPv4 appliance information
This is the method of defining the appliance’s IP address on the network.Address assignment
• Manual: A static IP address is defined for the appliance. This is the method HP recommends.
• DHCP: An IP address is assigned by a DHCP server. HP does not recommend using DHCP
addresses unless the DHCP server is configured to guarantee the same address will always
be assigned to the appliance.
