7.6.1 Navigating the Edit configuration file screen
If you come to the Edit configuration file screen from the Overview screen, you will be taken to a
section depending on the you selected: General, Description, or File contents.
TIP: You can edit other sections of the Edit screen by scrolling all sections are available to edit.
7.6.2 Input fields on the Edit configuration file screen

Name Description: This is the unique label that will be associated with the configuration file. The
name of the configuration file appears in the master pane list on the
Configuration Files screens (select Configuration Files from the main menu) and
is what you use to identify a configuration file within OS Build Plans.
Data type: Character string
The Name may not begin with a space or punctuation.
The Name cannot contain: <, >, &, newlines, tabs, slashes (/), or backslashes
(\).
The Name must be unique.
Default value: None
Required: Yes
Examples:
Configure Windows 2008 Default Unattend.xml
Configure ESXi 4.1 Default ks.cfg
Configure Red Hat Default ks.cfg
Description Description: Use this text area to create a short, meaningful synopsis of what this
configuration file does.
Data type: Character string
The Description has a maximum length of 500 characters.
Default value: None
Required: Yes
File contents Description: This is the text of the configuration file itself.
Data type: Character strings
Default value: None
Required: Yes
7.6.3 Edit configuration file screen buttons

Selecting OK saves the configuration file with the information as entered on the Edit configuration
file page.
NOTE: Configuration files supplied by Insight Control server provisioning are read only and
may not be overwritten. These are identified by the HP-provided field on the Overview General
panel showing Yes.

Exits the Edit configuration file screen without saving any edits.Cancel
7.7 Overview screen for configuration files
The configuration file Overview screen displays information associated with the configuration file
selected in the master pane list of configuration files.
This is a read-only view. To edit the configuration file, select or select ActionsEdit.
