The servers selected will be given a host name beginning with the Host name prefix and continuing
with a number starting with this index and incrementing for each server.
You may add leading zeros to this field to increase the number of digits used for numbering.
The IP address of the node in your local network that allows communication to other networks.Gateway
NOTE: A gateway is required for OS deployment of ESXi 5.x.
The Domain Name System (DNS) name. This is a period (.) separated string and is usually the
right side part of a fully qualified host name.
DNS domain
The IP address of the DNS server for your network.DNS server
Selecting View will display a table showing how the values will resolve for each host if this server
configuration is saved.
View
Display Name the name displayed in the Servers master pane
Host Name the server name you can set with the Host name text box in the Configure static
network information area of the Run OS Build Plan page
NIC the name of the NIC as set within the server
MAC address the hardware address for the NIC
IP address the assigned static IP address
5.15 Steps for OS Build Plans
To view detailed information on the steps for a particular Build Plan, select Steps from any OS
Build Plan view menu.

This Build Plan will execute the steps in the order shown, beginning with step 1.Step
This is the name of the specific resource used in this step. For example, if the step is a script, this
is the script name.
Name
These are the parameters that will be passed to this script when it is run in this Build Plan. To edit
parameters, select ActionsEdit.
Parameters
For scripts this could be OGFS, Python, Unix, Windows .BAT, Windows VBScript, Windows
.PS1, etc. See About scripts (page 64) for additional information.
Type
For packages, this is Install ZIP.
For configuration files, this is Config File.
