Procedure 36 To run an OS Build Plan
1. Before beginning, verify the target servers have met the prerequisites as described in “Make
sure a target server is ready for an OS Build Plan to run on it” (page 21).
2. From any Jobs, OS Build Plan, or Servers page, select ActionsRun OS Build Plan.
3. Select the desired OS Build Plan from the OS Build Plan field. Type directly in the field or select
to search through the list of available Build Plans.
4. Select Add Servers to select servers to be provisioned with this Build Plan. Type directly in the
field or select to search through the list of available servers.
5. You may opt to configure the target server networking at this point by checking the Configure
static network information check box. See “Configuring static networking information
(page 62) for details.
6. Select Run to launch the job or select Cancel to return to the previous page. You will be asked
to verify launching the job if you select Run.
7. Once the job has been launched, you will be taken to the Jobs page with the newly created
job highlighted. You may monitor the job from there or continue working.
NOTE: For servers with B120i and B320i controllers, the custom attribute kernel_arguments
must be set to blacklist=ahci for Red Hat installations or broken_modules=ahci for SLES
installations.

OS Build Plan Description: This is the name of the OS Build Plan that will be run on the servers you select.
You may either type the Build Plan name or portion of the name to search, or
select to scroll through the list of available Build Plans.
Default value: None

This is the overview of the OS Build Plan. It is read only in this context. To change the description
you must edit the Build Plan as described in “Editing OS Build Plans (page 54).
Description
Servers Description: This table displays the servers currently selected for this OS Build Plan. When
Run is selected, provisioning of the selected Build Plan will begin on these
servers.

Selecting this will open a new window: Select Servers for the Job.Add servers
From the Select Servers for the Job page:
Type the server name or portion of the name to search, or select to scroll through the list
of available Build Plans.
Click on a server row to add it to the list of target servers.
Select OK to add the servers to the target server list and return to the Run OS Build Plan page.
Select Cancel to return to the Run OS Build Plan page with no changes.
Checking this allows you to personalize the networking for the target servers. Additional fields
will be displayed on the screen when this box is checked that allow you to enter specific

networking information for the target servers. See “Configuring static networking information
(page 62) for details.
Select Run to begin provisioning the selected servers with the selected OSBP. A dialog box will
be displayed to verify you want to proceed. If you proceed, you will be taken to the Jobs page
