12 Troubleshooting index
This index is a repository for all problem/recommendation information provided by IC server
provisioning developers. Troubleshooting topics are included within the Troubleshooting index
online help chapter. If your issue does not appear in the index, contact HP Support.
12.1 Known issues and restrictions
Check the Insight Control server provisioning sections of the HP Insight Control Release Notes and
the HP Insight Management Support Matrix, available at www.hp.com/go/insightcontrol/docs.
12.2 Customer advisories
A customer advisory is a concise communication clearly identifying specific issues and the effective
resolution for selected servers. If you are experiencing difficulty, there might be a customer advisory
that can help you.
You can receive proactive customized email messages that provide customer advisories as well
as drivers, software patches, product change notifications, patches, security bulletins, and more.
Sign up for HP Subscriber's Choice at the following website: http://www.hp.com/go/myadvisory.
12.3 The GUI has display problems
Try refreshing your browser page to clear problems and reset the GUI.
IMPORTANT: If you refresh your browser from an edit screen, all edits since your last save will
be lost.
12.4 Links in EULA lead to error message
12.4.1 Symptom
When clicking a link in the EULA to view open source component licenses, a screen is displayed
with the message, “The proxy server is refusing connections.”
12.4.2 Resolution
Press Alt-< to return to the EULA. To review the open source component licenses, open the EULA
included with the Insight Control server provisioning product and select the links from that file.
12.5 Target servers cannot PXE boot into the appliance
12.5.1 Symptom
There is no PXE or DHCP response when a target server is trying to boot into Insight Control server
provisioning.
12.5.2 Possible causes
• “There is no DHCP server on your network” (page 101)
• “Incorrect gateway and DNS information” (page 102)
• “A firewall is blocking PXE/TFTP requests” (page 102)
12.5.3 There is no DHCP server on your network
Make sure the appliance DHCP server is enabled or an external DHCP server is configured properly.
See the HP Insight Control Server Provisioning Administrator Guide for details.
