The ESXi 5.1 scripted install build plan is missing a “Decommission Server” step after the “Boot”
step. This could affect installations of ESXi 5.1 on previously provisioned servers.
Suggested action
To prevent any possible issues from this issue, perform one of the following three actions:
• Make a copy of the ESXi 5.1 Build Plan and add the Decommission Server step immediately
after the first Boot step.
• Before reprovisioning a server with this Build Plan, run the ProLiant HW - Prepare for Linux
Reprovisioning build plan.
• Delete and readd a server before reprovisioning a server using this build plan.
Benign error when installing Windows 2012
When examining the logs of a Windows 2012 deployment job, you may see the error
No handlers could be found for logger
osprov.wrappers.windowspartitionmanipulation after the Partition Disk for Windows
step. This happens even if the Build Plan is completed successfully.
Suggested action
This error message is expected and is benign.
When using Insight Control server provisioning WinPE image generation utility for WinPE 4.0,
several failure messages appear in the utility log window after the image file is created.
The failure error messages are:
• Error [setup] Verifying Windows AIK 3.0 failed
• Error [setup] Windows AIK 3.0 is not installed
• Error [setup] Verifying Windows AIK 3.1 failed
• Error [setup] Windows AIK 3.1 is not installed
Suggested action
These messages can safely be ignored as AIK 3.0 and 3.1 are not required for generating WinPE
4.0 image files.
Backup Administrator gets stuck on Activity page
When a backup administrator tries to access the Activity page, you get a popup message:
The login session has been lost. When you click OK it comes back to the same popup.
Suggested action
To resolve this issue, close the browser.
Benign error in job log when adding a server
When adding a server through the iLO, the job log of the add iLO job may contain the following
message:
WARNING: There is no job id associated with this run. If you plan on
running Build Plan jobs with the APX directly the spin garbage collector
should be disabled.
Suggested action
This message is benign and can be ignored.
Stop backup option does not stop the backup process
After starting a backup of the server provisioning appliance, and clicking on Stop backup displays
the error message Unable to locate the item you requested.
