HP Insight Control 7.3 Update 1 Release Notes

Build Plan reports an error. To update the firmware on your server, the following options are
available:
Run the ProLiant SW Offline Firmware Update Build Plan using the Intelligent Provisioning
service OS (Gen8 or newer servers only).
Perform an online firmware update using the ProLiant SW - Install Linux SPP or ProLiant SW -
Install Windows SPP Build Plan. If your server does not have an OS installed, you can install
one temporarily and then perform an online update.
Boot the SPP (Service Pack for ProLiant) ISO manually. See the SPP documentation for
instructions.
When capturing a windows system that was deployed using an IC server provisioning version
prior to 7.3 Update 1, a modification must be done to the Build Plan to perform the capture.
The labeling of the Windows system disk changed in version 7.3 Update 1. If you are attempting
to capture a Windows system that was installed with a version prior to 7.3 Update 1, the capture
Build Plan must be modified to account for the old labeling scheme.
Suggested action
Modify the capture Build Plan in the 7.3.1 appliance. Add the following parameter to the Windows
Image Capture step in the Build Plan (typically the last step): --systemPartitionLabel=OS
Server provisioning appliance may be left unusable if shut down ungracefully
If the appliance is shut down abruptly as a result of something like a power failure, storage
disconnection, or forced power off, on rare occasions, the appliance disk may become corrupted,
and upon restart, prompts for a password to manually run fsck. But, the supported mechanisms
of getting the root password are not enabled at this early stage in the boot, and hence the appliance
is left unusable.
Suggested action
Revert to a previously created VM snapshot, if one is available. If not, create a new server
provisioning appliance from the original image and then restore a backup.
Windows Boot from SAN issue on G1 or G2 HP BladeSystem Enclosures with QLogic QMH2672
HBA and HP B-series switches.
When you attempt to perform a boot from SAN in a Windows 2008 or Windows 2008 R2
configuration on a blade server with a QLogic QMH2672 HBA in a G1 or G2 blade enclosure
and one of the following switches: HP B-series 8/12c BladeSystem SAN Switch, HP B-series 8/24c
BladeSystem SAN Switch, HP 8/24c BladeSystem Pwr Pk+ SAN Switch, a blue screen flashes
and displays an error message and the server reboots. This issue does not occur on G3 enclosures.
To determine whether you have a G1, G2, or G3 enclosure, log on to your Onboard Administrator
and select Enclosure Information on the left-hand side, then click on the Information tab. Your
enclosures model, which is listed under the Model column, ends in G3 if you have a G3 enclosure.
Suggested action
This issue has been fixed in the latest version of the B-series switch firmware, Fabric OS firmware
version 7.2.1.
