3 Supported servers and enclosures
This chapter lists the HP ProLiant servers and HP BladeSystem enclosures that are supported
for use with Insight Control for Linux.
For a list of HP ProLiant servers that support RHEL and SLES operating systems, see the Linux

To find the minimum supported Red Hat updates or Novell service packs for a particular server,
go to this web site, locate the server, and select it. An individual web page for that server will
appear with the minimum supported OS information.
IMPORTANT: Some server/operating system combinations require an updated initrd file. If
a specific server requires an initrd file, there will be a note in the entry for that server. The HP
Insight Control for Linux Release Notes contains an update to Table 7-2, Download web address
for initrd files, of the HP Insight Control for Linux User Guide.

NOTE: Virtual media functions can only be used on servers with iLO-based management
processors.
3.1 Management processors
The following table provides the minimum firmware version for the management processors
used for the servers supported by Insight Control for Linux:

3.2 c-Class server blades
The c-Class server blades feature iLO2 and iLO3 management processors.
Table 3-2 lists the HP ProLiant c-Class server blades that are supported for use with Insight
Control for Linux.
