Monitoring Managed Nodes with CentOS Installed
Managed nodes with CentOS 5.4 installed should be treated in the same manner as the RHEL5.4
managed nodes. For more information, see the section titled “Setting up managed systems for
monitoring” of the HP Insight Control for Linux User Guide.
Issues Using Older Versions of CentOS
RHEL 5.4 supports all the latest hardware supplied with HP ProLiant G6 servers. However, older
versions of RHEL/CentOS might not support all the latest hardware. If you intend to install an older
version of CentOS on the newest hardware, you might need to download a new initrd file that has
the latest drivers. For more information on acquiring and using newer version of initrd, see the
section titled “Additional prerequisites for certain ProLiant servers” in the HP Insight Control for Linux
User Guide.
The CentOS community, not HP, provides support for newer versions of initrd.
