Virtual machine customization fails during template deployment
During template deployment of VMs in case of Windows Hyper-v server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Hyper-v
server 2008 SP2 on Proliant servers, the virtual network manager fails to load the Hyper-v manager through
the import and export methods. This causes failure of virtual machine customization and the IO service
request.
To resolve this issue, you must install HP NCU v 10.10 or above and enable the TCP offload feature in the
Hyper-v host.
To install the NCU components, see the HP website at
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3884083.
You can check and enable the TCP offload feature through the network adapter properties as shown in the
following dialog box.
Deploying a virtual machine on a host with password having special character (")
embedded within it, fails to work as expected.
Template deployment of virtual machine fails when the host has a password of the guest operating system
with special character (").
To resolve this issue, you must ensure that the host password does not include the special character (")
embedded within it. This will ensure successful virtual machine customization.
Virtual machine host and guest icons do not appear in virtual machine management
If the virtual machine host and guests were previously accessible from virtual machine management and
display an Information icon in the Systems Insight Manager console, verify that the host is licensed. If the
host was licensed with a demo license, then the license might have expired. Obtain a permanent license for
the host.
