Insight Control virtual machine management detects the new master of the resource pool. You should now
invoke Recover VMs of Failed Host.
Insight Control virtual machine management does not display Quick Move option
for HA configured Microsoft Hyper-V server virtual machines in the Move wizard
Ensure the HA configured Microsoft Hyper-V server virtual machine is listed in the Microsoft Failover Cluster
Management tool.
Check whether domain credentials are provided in system sign-in credentials of HP SIM credentials
settings, and the Microsoft Hyper-V server host is registered properly. If the credentials are not entered, enter
them in the system sign-in credentials of HP SIM credentials settings and re-register the Microsoft Hyper-V
server host.
Prefailure alerting reports errors for Citrix XenServer resource pool
The following errors might occur:
Error: This operation cannot be performed because it would invalidate VM
failover planning such that the system would be unable to guarantee to restart
protected VMs after a Host failure.
This error indicates that your resource pool cannot put into maintenance mode as the resource pool contains
protected virtual machines. To unprotect the virtual machine, see the Citrix XenServer documentation, and
then try prefailure alerting.
Error: you attempted to run a VM on a host which doesnt have access to an SR
needed by the VM. The VM has at least one VBD attached to a VDI in the SR.
This error indicates that your resource pool contains virtual machines in a running state that are not on the
shared storage in the resource pool. Stop the virtual machines, and then attempt prefailure alerts again.
Hyper-V R2 host virtual machines recovered on alternate host using Failed Host
Recovery cannot be powered on
Ensure the cluster shared volume(CSV) is accessible on the alternate host. Configure the network settings of
the virtual machine manually if not set.
HP SIM console integration
The virtual machine guest is not listed on the HP SIM All Systems page
Be sure the virtual machine is configured properly for HP SIM identification. For more information, see the
HP SIM Technical Reference Guide.
Certain Insight Control operations cannot be performed on a virtual machine
Be sure the virtual machine is configured properly for HP SIM identification. For more information, see the
HP SIM Technical Reference Guide.
For unconfigured virtual machines, you can create a template through the HP SIM menus.
The HP SIM console does not identify a server as a virtual machine host
To verify proper system identification in HP SIM, click the Server Name entry in the HP SIM console, and
then be sure that VM Host Details appear on the Identity screen.
If HP SIM does not recognize the virtual machine host, then run an Identify Systems event on the virtual
machine guests by selecting OptionsDiscovery.
The HP SIM console does not discover a virtual machine host or guest
An unconfigured virtual machine only appears in the VM Host System page. To resolve this issue:
