Configuring VMware vCenter servers
Insight Control 6.0 supports multiple VMware vCenter Servers. The VMware vCenter credentials are required
to register VMware ESX hosts in the vCenter Server with Insight Control 6.0. HP recommends providing the
credentials of the user who is part of the Administrator role in vCenter Server.
To navigate to the VMware vCenter Server credentials user interface, select either of the following:
Click Options, then VMware vCenter Settings.
Click Optionsthen Discovery, then select select Configure vCenter settings.
To configure a new VMware vCenter, click New and provide the user credentials. Enter the credentials that
were configured on the VMware vCenter Server Web Service page during the VMware vCenter Server
installation.
NOTE: System Name/Address is either the VMware vCenter server hostname or IP address and port is
the VMware vCenter Server web service port. The default port is 443. The User Name follows the domain
account format – DOMAIN/administrator.
When you click OK, the new VMware vCenter credentials are set and connection status is displayed.
