HP Insight Control for Linux 7.1 Release Notes
2 Issues and suggested actions
2.1 Licensing notes
2.1.1 Insight Control for Linux license assigned to management processor
Be advised that Insight Control for Linux permits you to assign an Insight Control for Linux license
to an MP, which is not recommended because it uses a license unnecessarily.
2.1.2 Warning message: This system is already enabled
This message occurs when you try to apply a license to a system that is already enabled for the
product.
Corrective action: Deselect the system.
2.2 Network configuration notes
2.2.1 Internet Explorer generates error when Define Networks task is launched from
the Network Configuration Editor
Clicking the Define Networks button of the Network Configuration Editor to invoke the Define
Networks task generates an HTTP Status 500 error in an Internet Explorer browser.
Corrective actions:
• Use the Options→IC-Linux→Define Networks... menu item to invoke the Define Networks task.
Be sure to define the networks before using the Network Configuration Editor.
• Alternatively, use the Mozilla Firefox browser.
2.3 Management and monitoring notes
This section contains notes that apply to Insight Control for Linux management and monitoring
features.
2.3.1 Sensor collection monitor Nagios service might time out on hub when
/hptc_cluster is exported
When the /hptc_cluster file system is NFS exported, the Collection Sensor Monitor service
on the hub might time out. Additionally, the shownode metrics command hangs.
Corrective action: Perform the procedure titled Procedure 2 Opening ports on SLES operating
systems in the HP Insight Control for Linux Installation Guide.
