1 Central management server requirements
The HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) Central Management Server (CMS) is the server on
which HP SIM and the HP Insight Control for Linux (Insight Control for Linux) software is
installed.
1.1 CMS requirements
The server you choose to be the CMS must fulfill the requirements listed in Table 1-1.

HP ProLiant c-Class blade servers, DL series servers, and DL series servers are
supported for use as the CMS.

monitored.

IMPORTANT: Not all operating systems listed in this table are supported on
ProLiant G6 series servers. See Chapter 3 (page 11) for exceptions to OS support
on G6 servers.
Linux OS
Insight Control for Linux can be installed in a virtual guest, running a supported
OS, with the exception of DOM0 on Xen.
Installing Insight Control for Linux on other virtualization operating systems
supported by the stack should work, but they have not been tested.
