HP Insight Control for Linux 6.0 Installation Guide

IMPORTANT: HP recommends that you install a new instance of a Linux OS on the CMS because
Systems Insight Manager and Insight Control for Linux have requirements on certain RPM
Package Manager (RPM) software packages. To get the best experience with Insight Control for
Linux, HP recommends that you include the required RPMs during a new installation. Required
RPMs are listed in Section 3.4.1.2 (page 18).
If you do not want to perform a new installation of Linux on the CMS, you might have to resolve
missing RPM requirements manually on the currently installed OS.
3.4.1.2 Verify that required OS RPMs are installed
Verify that all RPM package dependencies are installed on the CMS.
The Insight Control for Linux installation process verifies RPM dependencies and alerts you if
an RPM is missing on the CMS.
However, before you install Insight Control for Linux, HP recommends that you use the RPMs
listed in the following OS-specific tables to verify whether or not the required RPMs are installed
on the CMS:
Table 3-2 lists RPM requirements for all supported Linux OSs
Table 3-3 and Table 3-4 list RPM requirements that are specific to RHEL
Table 3-5 and Table 3-6 list RPM requirements that are specific to SLES
If one or more required RPMs are not installed, install them now.
NOTE: Be aware that some RPM dependencies also have dependencies on other RPMs.
