HP Imaging and Printing Security Center 2.0 - Release Notes

9
If using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express, HP IPSC database permissions
must be manually configured. Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is required to make these
configuration changes. Details are provided in the HP IPSC Installation and Setup Guide found at
www.hp.com/go/ipsc. To take advantage of database performance improvements, an upgrade to
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP1is recommended.
If a firewall is installed on the computer on which the HP Imaging & Printing Security Center service runs
and the service will be accessed from the user interface on a remote computer, the firewall must be set to
allow access to the service. The HP Imaging & Printing Security Center service listens on port 8002, which
must be opened in the firewall to allow remote access to the service. If you do not want to allow remote
access to the HP Imaging & Printing Security Center web service, then you can block port 8002 with a
firewall.
Verification of code signed with the new Authenticode signing certificate (2011) might fail on some
Windows machines. On failing machines, the VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5
root certificate is required for proper verification. This issue only occurs on machines that do not have the
latest ROOT certificate update from Microsoft. This can happen when Windows Update is disabled or the
machine is not connected to the Internet.
