After downloading this version from the web, you can install it on any server running on any one
of the HP-UX releases listed in Table 6.
Ignite-UX version C.7.18.63 includes the following new features:
• Ignite-UX now provides a feature to create golden images in a simplified way.
• Ignite-UX software has been fully integrated with VxFS5.1SP1 and VxVM5.1SP1 components.
• Ignite-UX now provides support for signature verification in a signed depot on HP-UX 11i v3
Integrity servers.
NOTE: Signature verification is performed during the initial cold install phase. This may take
a long time. For more information, see Software Distributor Administration Guide at http://
www.hp.com/go/sd-docs.
This release also includes fixes for the following Change Requests:
• QXCR1001070153—Following the replacement of VxFS 5.0.1 and VxVM 5.0.1 software
components by VxFS 5.1 SP1 and VxVM 5.1 SP1 in the Operating Environment of March
2013 release of HP-UX 11i v3, the installation environment of Ignite-UX has been completely
updated with the VxFS 5.1 SP1 and VxVM 5.1 SP1 drivers and command binaries.
• QXCR1001239652—Support for software signature verification during cold installation.
• QXCR1001269330—Golden image creation is simplified and automated using a new GUI
and CLI.
• QXCR1001303005—On a system that has disks managed by VxVM 5.1 SP1 and also has
enabled EBN(Enclosure Based Naming) scheme for the disks, Ignite-UX may dump the core
if the length of the volume names is greater than 1024 characters. Ignite-UX has now been
modified to manage value names up to 1024 characters, else bail out while creating the
recovery archives.
• QXCR1001321790—During recovery on a SRP(Secure Resource Partitions) system, the
message /dev/srp not found is displayed. The issue is cosmetic and can be safely
ignored. With this fix, the respective message logging has been improved.
Notes related to known problems with this release:
QXCR1001268159—A device that does not support any SCSI level identity such as VPD pages
0x80 and 0x83 might not be correctly recovered.
QXCR1001318007—During a cold install of an Ignite-UX client running on HP-UX virtual partition
6.2, a warning message about the hyperthreading not being enabled with the setboot command
is logged. This message does not cause any installation failures and can be ignored.
