HP StoreAll OS 6.5.1 Release Notes

3. To restart the HP-SMB service, do one of the following:
To restart the service on all nodes in the cluster, execute the following command:
ibrix_server s t cifs c restart
To restart the service on each node individually, execute the following command on
each node (where SERVERNAME is the node name):
ibrix_server s t cifs c restart [-h SERVERNAME]
Implemented a tuning parameter for the SMB feature OpLocks. By default in version 6.5, the
OpLocks feature is disabled. Previously, this feature was known to cause stability issues in some
configurations. The tuning parameter was implemented to address these problems. If you plan to
use OpLocks, you must enable the EnableOpLocks registry key. After configuring this registry
key, you should restart the HP-SMB service.
1. To configure the EnableOpLocks registry key, do one of the following:
To configure the EnableOpLocks registry key for all nodes in the cluster, execute the
ibrix_cifsconfig command as follows:
ibrix_cifsconfig t S enable_oplocks=1
To configure the EnableOpLocks registry key on each node individually, locate the
EnableOpLocks registry key in the HKEY_THIS_MACHINE\Services\lwio\
Parameters\Drivers\ibfs directory and set the value to 1 (EnableOpLocks=1).
In a retention-enabled file system, if the absolute pathname (/FSNAME/<filename>) of the file
is greater than 1,023 characters, the checksum is now generated and the validation scan completes
successfully.
The file system creation on the 9300 server no longer fails from the Getting Started Wizard. You
can also still create the file system using the Create Filesystem Wizard or its comparable CLI
command (ibrix_fs -c -f...).
If you create an SMB share and the share name contains a space, an error message is now
displayed indicating that the share name cannot contain spaces. This message displays whether
the share is created using the CLI or the GUI. Previously, if a space was included in the share
name, share creation was indicated as successful but the share was not actually created.
When using the ibrix_auth command to update the share administrator information, both the
local version and the Fusion Manager version of the user database (sam.db) are updated.
Previously, because the versions of the database were not synchronized, using this command
could intermittently cause "access denied" errors when accessing shares.
The CRR health check code was updated to ensure stale data is not reported for the NIC status.
Previously, the NIC status reported by the CRR health check could have been older than the NIC
status reported by the ibrix_nic -l command.
