Step 2: Replacing the cache module
1. Remove the cache module power-connector hold-down bracket by
pulling both edge clips away from the cache module and lifting the
bracket up.
2. Remove the failed cache module from the controller:
a. Remove the cache power cable (1).
b. Press the cache module retention levers (2) to release the
module from the controller.
c. Lift the failed cache module straight up and out of the controller
(3).
3. Install the replacement cache module in the controller:
IMPORTANT:
Do not allow the cache module to flex during
installation. Damage may result.
a. Install one new rubber spacer over the first power edge
connector.
NOTE:
The second spacer is provided as a spare.
b. Insert the cache module (1), verifying that the module is seated
and that the connector release/locking levers are in the locked
position (2).
NOTE:
The cache module edge connector is keyed so that
it can only be installed one way.
c. Attach the cache power cable (3).
4. Replace the cache module power-connector hold-down bracket.
