HP Storage Platform 2.1 Release Notes

Installer rejects VC password after ~5 minutes, even though it is correct. The root cause of this
problem is that the VC cannot communicate with the OA. This problem can be corrected by
forcing re-authentication through the following steps:
1. login to VC manually as Administrator
2. VC will display its banner and then “Connection to Onboard Administrator of Primary
Enclosure is lost.” and prompt you for OA User Name. Enter “Administrator”
3. VC will prompt for the OA Password. Enter that credential (Asterisks will be echoed)
4. VC will display ‘Authenticating OA credentials. Please wait…”
5. VC will print its prompt after authentication is successful
6. Log out of VC.
Storage Hardware
Supercapacitor on P1210m not charging properly confusing firmware, and HPSP and StoreAll
software. These problems are under investigation. The following note concerning low-level
firmware behavior may be of interest:
NOTE:
When a Supercapacitor on a 1210m cache module fails, the firmware disables
the cache on itself and its mirror pair (partner controller in the other server of the c
ouplet).
This response exists to protect the user data integrity but will slow the performance of the
RAID data path.
Single drive path (degraded) systems using P1210m controllers can lead to false positive failure
of path. This problem is corrected in P1210m firmware with an upcoming release.
In the 9730 Platform, the SAS Switch Modules can cause the HPSP subsystem to report false
failures. This problem is not frequent but is under active investigation and will be corrected in a
future HPSP release and/or patches for earlier releases.
In some circumstances the SAS Switch in the 9730 platform can report that it has no ports. This
problem is corrected with new VSM firmware for the switch that will be available in an upcoming
release and/or patch(es).
