2. On Drawer 2, connect:
• SAS port 1 connector on the primary I/O
module (Drawer 2) to port 3 on the Bay 7
SAS switch
• SAS port 1 connector on the secondary I/O
module (Drawer 2) to port 3 on the Bay 8
SAS switch
3. Power on the newly connected X9730 CX.

To continue adding X9730 CXs in the main rack,
follow the instructions provided for X9730 CX 1
through 3, connecting to the corresponding SAS switch
port:
• X9730 CX 4 connects to port 4 on the SAS
switches
• X9730 CX 5 connects to port 5 on the SAS
switches
• X9730 CX 6 connects to port 6 on the SAS
switches
Connecting X9730 CXs in the expansion
rack
As shown in Figure 2 (page 2), the remaining X9730
CXs are installed at the bottom of the expansion rack.
X9730 CX 7 is at the bottom of the rack; X9730 CX
8 is installed above X9730 CX 7. The X9730 CXs in
the expansion rack must connect to the SAS switches
in the main rack.
Connect X9730 CX 7 to the SAS switches (Figure 9
(page 6)):
1. On Drawer 1, connect:
• SAS port 1 connector on the primary I/O
module (Drawer 1) to port 7 on the Bay 5
SAS switch
• SAS port 1 connector on the secondary I/O
module (Drawer 1) to port 7 on the Bay 6
SAS switch
2. On Drawer 2, connect:
• SAS port 1 connector on the primary I/O
module (Drawer 2) to port 7 on the Bay 7
SAS switch
• SAS port 1 connector on the secondary I/O
module (Drawer 2) to port 7 on the Bay 8
SAS switch
3. Power on the newly connected X9730 CX.
