6.1.1 HP IBRIX X9000 Network Storage System Release Notes

Monitoring of chassis, storage, and server components on X9720/X9730 systems. You can
display component status on the GUI or with the ibrix_chassis, ibrix_pv, and
ibrix_health commands.
Support for Antivirus software.
New ibrix_evacuate command to move data from one segment to another. This feature was
previously provided with the ibrix_rebalance command.
New upgrade60.sh utility to upgrade pre-6.0 file systems for software snapshots.
CIFS enhancements:
LDAP can now be used as the primary authentication method for users accessing CIFS shares.
LDAP can be configured with the GUI or the ibrix_ldapconfig command.
LDAP ID mapping can now be used as a secondary lookup method to Active Directory for
users accessing CIFS shares. LDAP ID mapping can be configured with the GUI or the
ibrix_ldapidmapping command.
Monitoring CIFS services on file serving nodes. This is done with the new
ibrix_cifsmonitor command.
Share-level permissions for users or groups. You can assign share-level permissions on the
GUI or with the ibrix_cifsperms command.
Data validation enhancements:
New data retention, utilization, and validation reports.
New autocommit feature. Files that are not changed during the Autocommit period
automatically become WORM or WORM-retained when the period expires.
NOTE: The CIFS shadow copy feature described in the HP IBRIX X9000 Network Storage System
File System User Guide is disabled in the 6.1.1 release. When this feature is disabled, you will see
one of the following in Windows Explorer: the previous version tab will not be visible, or the previous
version tab will not list any timestamps from previous versions. The CIFS shadow copy feature will be
enabled in a future IBRIX release.
Implementation changes in the 6.1.1 release
Remote replication now supports replicating from a 5.x cluster to a 6.1.x cluster, or from a 6.1.x
cluster to a 5.x cluster. Although 6.1 to 5.x replication is supported, HP recommends that the
target version not be lower than the source version when replicating.

The ibrix_edquota -c option has changed to ibrix_edquota -C.
