Version:
6.1.1
Description
This release provides the new HP IBRIX X9730 Network Storage System and updates to HP IBRIX
X9000 File Serving Software and to HP IBRIX X9300, X9320, and X9720 systems. The X9000 software
features a highly scalable file system, CIFS, NFS, FTP, and HTTP file services, high availability, remote
replication, data retention, snapshots, data tiering, Antivirus support, and CLI and GUI management
interfaces, and is installed on HP IBRIX Network Storage System and Network Storage Gateway
servers.
Update eligibility
Customers running X9000 File Serving Software 6.1, 6.0, 5.6, 5.5, 5.4.1, or 5.4.0 are eligible for
the update. Refer to the administrator guide for your storage system for specific update requirements
and procedures. Customers running X9000 File Serving Software 5.3.2 or earlier versions should
contact HP Support to determine compatibility before updating their software.
IMPORTANT: Some systems shipped from the factory with version 6.1. All systems running the 6.1
software release should be reimaged to at least the 6.1.1 release before being put into service. You
can identify whether a server is running the correct version by logging into the console for that server.
You will see output similar to the following:
HP X9000 Network Storage System
6.1.0-125277
Kernel 2.6.18-194.el5 on an x86_64
x9730 login:
If the first portion of the version number indicates a version of 6.1.0 (rather than 6.1.1 or later), your
system must be upgraded to the 6.1.1 release using the 6.1.1 Quick Restore (QR) image and QR
process before continuing. This upgrade is part of the initial installation of your system by HP.
