Disk Device Support

This Fibre Channel Solution Software Kit supports the disk devices listed in Table 4 at

the indicated hardware and microcode levels.

NOTE: Full 14-slot drive support per channel is available on MA/EMA Series arrays only.

IMPORTANT: All new Universal SCSI disk drives sold by StorageWorks come with an 8 MB

EISA style partition at the start of the disk. This includes new StorageWorks SBB drives, which

contain the basic universal disk drive brick internally. The EISA partition, when left on the media,

is presented to a host at the storage unit level by the HSG80 storage system. Some hosts and

applications may misinterpret this information. In order to resolve this potential issue,

approximately 8 MB needs to be erased from the beginning of the disk. See "Windows NT

Specific Notes", page 52, for details.
