IMPORTANT: StorageWorks recommends that you do not mix switch firmware versions in your
SAN. The best practice is to uniformly upgrade all switches in the SAN.
Solution Software Updates
The following improvements were made to your Solution Software:
• Solution Software Version 8.7A was qualified with ACS Version 8.7 and the
components defined in these Release Notes.
• Added support for StorageWorks 64-bit, 2 Gbps PCI-X FC HBA 3R-A3751-AA
(281541-B21) HBA FCA2214, driver v8.2.0.72, Firmware loaded from driver,
BIOS Version 1.33.
• Added support for StorageWorks 64-bit, 2 Gbps PCI-X FC, dual channel HBA
3R-AA428-AA (321835-B21) HBA FCA2214DC, driver v8.2.0.72, Firmware
loaded from driver, BIOS Version 1.33.
• Upgraded HBA drivers for Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Server
2003 to Version 4-4.82a14 (NT) and Version 5-4.82a14 (W2K and WS2003).
• Upgraded StorageWorks DS-KGPSA-CB HBA driver to V4-4.82a14 (NT) and
V5-4.82a14 (W2K and WS2003), Firmware Version 3.82a1/BIOS Version 1.61a2.
• Reestablished support for StorageWorks DS-KGPSA-BC PCI FC HBA.
• Added support for Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3.
• Windows 2000 Datacenter support is not included in this release because of
lengthier certification requirements for Datacenter solutions.
Upon certification, Solution Software Version 8.7A for Windows 2000 Datacenter
and its associated documentation is made available.
• The Solution Software installation program can now perform silent installations,
which automates the installation process. See the HSG80 ACS Solution Software
Version 8.7 Installation and Configuration Guide for more information.
• The Fibre Channel Software Setup included with this Solution Software Kit
automatically corrects the ResetTPRLO parameter by setting it to a value of 1. See
"ResetTPRLO Parameter in Windows Environments", page 53 for detailed
information.
• The Solution Software now provides a Component Identifier program that gives
the user a quick method for identifying storage components. See the HSG80 ACS
Solution Software Version 8.7 Installation and Configuration Guide for more
information.
