Table 6-6 SP Troubleshooting
Condition and/or symptom Solution
No LEDs illuminated on SP Firmly seat the SP in the disk array chassis.
SP READY LED illuminated but, no
response from SP
Check the SP connector for damage. Check the FC-AL hub, host
Fibre Channel I/O adapter, and Fibre Channel cables for damage.
Check that the pins on the midplane connector are not damaged
or bent.
SP READY LED illuminated with
storage system failure; power-up self-
test fails with Grid Manager error
“Could not find valid Flare image

disks are installed in the proper slots: A0, A3, A4, B0, and C0.
“Dual board unbind error” while trying
to unbind disks
This SP does not own the disk being unbound. The other SP
owns the disks. Access the other SP to unbind the disks.
No recognition of disk array or second
SP by ISL> IOMAP/SYSMAP> IOMAP
or MAPPER
Check the term power LED on host Fibre Channel adapter.
Check for duplicate Fibre Channel IDs on all devices connected
on the FC-AL.
Check all Fibre Channel connectors on all devices on the FC-AL.
