A.04.20.23.05 and A.04.20.31.07 Release Notes
Announcement
In this release, High Availability Monitors™ (B5736DA) A.04.20.31.07 is released for use on the
Integrity platform and PA-RISC platform with the HP-UX 11i v3 operating system. High Availability
Monitors™ version A.04.20.11.03 and A.04.20.23.05 released earlier continue to be the latest
for use on the PA-RISC platforms with the HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2 operating system
respectively. The following high availability monitors are included in this bundle:
• HA Disk Monitor - It checks the status of LVM managed disks and detects disconnected buses,
power-failed or missing disks, and stale or missing mirrors. It provides the summary status for
both physical and logical volumes in a volume group, and individual status for each disk, and
logical volume.
• Management Information Base (MIB) Monitors - The following MIB monitors are shipped with
the product:
◦ HA Cluster Monitor checks the status of clusters, nodes, packages, and services of
Serviceguard.
◦ HA Network Interface Monitor reports the status of LAN interfaces.
◦ HA System Resource Monitor checks the number of users, the system load, and the amount
of file system space.
The High Availability Monitors (HA Monitors) bundle depends on, and includes, the Event Monitoring
Service (EMS) (EventMonitoring). When you install HA Monitors, the installation process
automatically installs EMS.
High Availability Monitors (B5736DA) version A.04.20.11.03, A.04.20.23.05, and
A.04.20.31.07 includes media, license, and manual.
IMPORTANT:
Obsolescence
High Availability Monitors has been deprecated. Post HP-UX 11i v3 release, High Availability
Monitors will be replaced with Web-based Enterprise Management (WBEM) based providers.
What is in This Version
HA Monitors is upgraded to version A.04.20.31.07 to support the update of Event Monitoring
Service (EMS) A.04.20.31.07.

Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
The HA Monitors software must be installed on each node that you want to monitor. If you want
to monitor the management station, then HA Monitors must be installed on the management station
also.
