available resources.

You can conﬁgure more than one request for each HA monitor. For

example, you may want it to send notiﬁcation to syslog at one value, and

to also send you an email message, perhaps at a different value.

All HA monitors can be used with system management software such as

HP OpenView.

The HA monitors (with the exception of the Database Monitor) can also

be used with high availability software such as MC/ServiceGuard, and

MC/LockManager. For example, an HA monitor’s resource can be

conﬁgured in ServiceGuard as part of a package dependency. If the

resource fails, ServiceGuard will fail the package over. You could also

conﬁgure a monitoring request in EMS to warn you earlier, so you could

take action to prevent the failure.
