Announcements

The Event Monitoring Service High Availability Monitors (EMS HA

Monitors) product polls system resource status and sends events to an

application of your choice based on user-deﬁned criteria. The EMS HA

Monitors product enhances your high-availability environment by

providing ways to detect loss of redundant resources, thus exposing

single points of failure.

The following EMS HA Monitors products are available:

• EMS HA Monitors for HP9000/Series 800 (B5736BA) — Version

A.02.00

Includes media, license and manual.

EMS HA Monitors run on HP-UX 11.00 or greater.

The EMS HA Monitors product contains a set of monitors, a framework,

and a conﬁguration interface. The monitors poll disks, clusters, network

interfaces, and system resources and send status to the framework. The

framework registers monitoring requests and sends events when

resources reach user-deﬁned critical values. The EMS graphical

conﬁguration interface runs under SAM.

Users can write their own monitors using the EMS API. See the external

The EMS HA Monitors product is designed to be used with system

management and high availability software such as HP OpenView and

MC/ServiceGuard. It can be used with any software written to interpret

and display messages sent in the supported protocols.
