Setting Up the Switch

Refer to the following sections to set up the switch. For more information about the

switch, refer to the documentation that shipped with the switch.

Installing the Switch

For current installation and configuration instructions, refer to the documentation

included with the switch.

1. Connect the AC power cable to the switch AC connector.

2. Turn on the AC power switch. The Power-On Self-Test (POST) runs

automatically.

NOTE: Refer to the switch documentation for descriptions of POST encounter errors and

LED indicators.

When each test completes successfully, the port LEDs display a steady green light.

For custom configuration information, refer to the documentation that comes with the

switch. Continue with the following steps to complete the cluster installation.

Updating Switch Firmware

If you are using the StorageWorks Fibre Channel Storage Switches (8 or 16) in a

ProLiant Cluster HA/F500 configuration, be sure you have configured the switches
