Installation and Upgrade
This section contains installation instructions, uninstall information, and upgrade instructions for
FMA 2.2.7.
Installation log file
To track installation problems, a log file named FMAinst.log is created in the TEMP directory (This
is the location that the TEMP environment variable points to.)
Complete uninstall from command line
Use the following command to completely uninstall FMA from a system:
msiexec /lvi %TEMP%\FMAremove.log /x {1641FA43-6759-4BC4-94C8-
2CC1E85EAB82} CLEANUP_ALL=1
This command logs all actions to %TEMP%\FMAremove.log and removes all the files from the
installation path, as well as all registry entries.
Remaining objects after a complete uninstall operation
After uninstalling FMA, the following empty folders and files are left on the system, and it is safe
to remove these objects:
%ProgramFiles%\Hewlett-Packard\
%CommonProgramFiles%\Hewlett-Packard\
%SystemRoot%\inf\oem3.pnf
%SystemRoot%\inf\oem3.inf
Explorer plug-in
When updating from FMA 2.0.x, the Explorer plug-in is not automatically installed. You must run
the installation a second time after the update procedure in maintenance mode and install the
Explorer plug-in.
