Note The disk space policy interval counter starts running when the server is started. If the server is
rebooted, the counter restarts.
5. Click Save.
Setting retention periods
Use the following steps to establish retention periods during which files are not released based on the high
watermark.
To set retention periods
1. In the left pane of the FMA user interface, select Managed Volumes.
2. In the right pane, double-click the volume on which you want to set retention periods. FMA displays
information about that volume.
3. In the Disk Space Policy area, click the Retention tab.
4. Set the time interval for each of the following retention periods:
• modified—When the high watermark is reached, migrated files that have been modified more than
this number of days ago can be released. You cannot enable accessed if you enable modified.
• accessed—When the high watermark is reached, migrated files that have been accessed more than
this number of days ago can be released. You cannot enable modified if you enable accessed.
• recalled—When the high watermark is reached, released files that were recalled more than this
number of days ago can be released again.
5. Click Save.
