Error Codes and Messages
This appendix contains information about FMA-related messages and their descriptions. FMA returns a
WIN32 defined error code or an FMA defined information or error code. For a description of system error
codes (Code No. 0 - 6118), see the Microsoft error list or contact Technical Support.

0x00010001 File is migrated. Informational: The file in
question has been migrated.
The file must be overwritten or
modified before it can be
migrated again.
0x00010002 File is not
migrated.
Informational: The file was not
migrated and cannot be
released or recalled.
The file must be migrated
before it can be released or
recalled.
0x00010003 File is released. Informational: The file was
released and cannot be
migrated.
The file must be recalled and
modified or overwritten before
it can be migrated again.
0x00010004 File is online. Informational: The file is
already online and cannot be
recalled.
Files must be released before
they can be recalled.
0x00010005 Metadata not
found.
Informational: The file does
not contain FMA metadata; it
is an unmanaged file.
FMA attaches metadata to a
file when it is migrated. The
file must be migrated.
0x00010006 File is not expired. Warning: File cannot be
released by the Disk Space
policy because the retention
time has not been reached.
If this behavior is not desired,
the retention times can be
adjusted. See Releasing files
using disk space policies on
page 48.
0x00010007 Not enough copies. Warning: A file release was
attempted by a user or policy
but too few migration copies
exist in the archives.
If there is more than one
archive, ensure there is
connectivity to each. The
number of copies required is
specified in the policy on the
Archives tab. If there is no
policy defined for a given file,
the default is 2.
