Preface
This guide describes how to use the Event Monitoring Service (EMS) and
how to configure the Management Information Base (MIB) monitors. The
MIB monitors check and report status on cluster, network, and system
resources.
Audience
HP intends this manual for system managers or administrators
responsible for configuring and maintaining the Event Monitoring
Service (EMS) on HP-UX 11i Versions 1 and 2.
This manual is based on the assumption that you have:
• An understanding of distributed network concepts and client-server
computing
• Demonstrated knowledge of UNIX
• An understanding of EMS basics
EMS functions at various levels independently and with:
• High availability software such as ServiceGuard
• Enterprise management products such as IT/O
