Future Direction
• EMS Framework (EventMonitoring) and HA Monitors (B5736DA) are in support
mode for all releases of HP-UX 11i
− No new enhancements/features
− Only defects with severity above 8 or defects related to security issues would
be fixed.
− There would be no patches for any release of EMS.
− As and when required EMS will provide defect fixes via AR / OEUR media. In
case of critical defects in the EMS Framework (EventMonitoring bundle only),
that impair the system / dependent product functioning, the fix will be made
available via Web Release, which happens once every month. The fix would
be made available for download as an installable product upgrade via the
web site https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=EventMonitoring
− These fixes would be included in the EMS product on the AR/OEUR media at a
minimum of once each year.
• In the support mode no new EMS Monitors will be developed.
• EMS Developers Kit will no longer be shipped.
• Monitoring for new platforms will be accomplished through WBEM based
monitoring only using the SysFaultMgmt Product.
• Customers are encouraged to develop WBEM provider based monitors using the
SysFaultMgmt framework rather than developing EMS monitors.
