HP StorageWorks 4000/6000/8000 Enterprise Virtual Array Updating Product Software Guide XCS 5.031 (5697-5541, December 2005)
NOTE:
When upgrading an EVA storage system that is operating in an HP Continuous Access EVA environment,
there are some special considerations:
• Before you upgrade any storage system in an HP Continuous Access EVA relationship, ensure that
all storage systems in the storage net work are running the same version of system software. This
will ensure that when you upgrade one storage system, the storage network will have only two
versions of system soft ware. You cannot have more than two versions in an HP Continuous Access
EVA environment.
• During the time that the HP Continuous Access EVA storage systems are running different system
software versions, you cannot make any configuration changes to your storage systems.
• You must perform the necessary upgrades to the storage systems in the HP Continuous Access EVA
relationshipwithinoneweektomakeallofthesystemsoftwareversionsthesame.
To upgrade the storage system software, perform the following steps:
NOTE:
Make sure you add the required license keys before you upgrade the system software. See Step 7:
Loading the add-on licenses for more information about adding license keys. See Required licenses for
information about licensed products.
1. Open HP Command View EVA in your browser.
2. Select a storage system in the N avigation pane.
NOTE:
You can select an uninitialize d or initialized storage system.
The properties page for the selected storage system opens.
