This chapter provides information about required kits and reference documentation. Please ensure that

you have met the outlined requirem ents and possess all of the required materials before you b eg in

the installation procedures outline d in this g uide.

NOTE:

Prerequisites

NOTE:

Before you can perform an online upgrade to VCS 3.028, you must be running VCS 3.014 or later.

Contact your HP-authorized service representative for assistance in upgrading to VCS 3.028 from any

version prior to 3.014.

Before performing the procedures in this guide, you should be familiar with the following:

• HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays

• SANs and storage systems

• HP StorageWorks Command View EVA

• HP OpenView Storage Management Appliance and HP O penView Storage Management Appliance

software (if used)

Required kits

Before you begin the Enterprise Virtual Array upgrade, you must have the following kits:

• HP Stora

geWorks Virtual Controller Software 3.0e Media Kit for Dual HSV110/100 Controllers.

In addition to d ocumentation, this kit contains the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array

System Software VCS 3.028 CD.

• HP StorageWorks EVA 4000 /6000/8000 v5.0a controller media kit. Inadditionto

documentation, this kit contains the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array System Software

on XCS 5.031 CD.

• HP StorageWorks Command View EVA media kit. The contents of this kit are descri be d in the HP

StorageWorks Command View EVA installation guide.

• HP Ope

nView Storage Management Appliance Software 2.1. This kit is required only if you use

an HP Storage M anagement Appliance to manage the storage system.
