Installing the Sun Solaris Kit
24 Sun Solaris Kit V3.0B for Enterprise Virtual Array Installation and Configuration Guide
Working with a New Installation
Setting up a Sun Solaris server with a new installation of an Enterprise Virtual
Array or EVA3000 may be in either an Enterprise-only or heterogeneous
environment. The following two sections outline the procedures for recognizing
virtual disks in each environment.
Enterprise-Only Environment
This procedure assumes that the FCA drivers are not installed on the server. You
must also verify SAN connectivity.
1. Install the software on the CD-ROM included with this kit (see “Installing the
Host Kit” on page 21).
Note: Do not restart the server.
2. Install the Secure Path kit.
You should see the following message displayed on the console during the
Secure Path installation:
found array controller device at tgt# lun#
This is the cpqccl driver binding to the Command Console LUNs (CCLs) of
the Enterprise Virtual Array or EVA3000.
There should also be rccl devices in /dev.
3. Run the Secure Path configuration application spconfig to complete the
Secure Path installation. See your Secure Path documentation for specific
instructions.
Heterogeneous Environment
This procedure assumes you are installing the server into a mixed environment
where HSV and HSG storage co-exist and that JNI driver is not installed on the
server.
1. Run install_stgwks from the CD-ROM that came with the HSG80
Solution Software Kit for Sun Solaris. See the installation guide that came
with the HSG80 kit for specific instructions.
2. Configure all World Wide Port Names of available storage controllers for the
server.
