Required patches
This release of VCS has been qualified with Sun Solaris patches installed. The latest patch information
can be found in the Secure Path for Sun Solaris specifications, available on the following web site:
h
ttp://h18066.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/enterprise/specification.html
CAUTION:
You must install the required patches. Your system will not function properly without them.
HP-UX 11iV2.0, has no required patches.
Switch support
This release supports the Fibre Channel (FC) switches and firmware versions listed in the HP StorageWorks
SAN design reference guide, which you can download from the HP StorageWorks web site:
h
ttp://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/san/documentation.html
NOTE:
HP recommends that you
not
mix switch firmware versions in your storage area network (SAN). It is a
best practice to uniformly upgrade all switches in the SAN.
Multiple-path support
In a multipath environment, a Sun Solaris system with EVA storage requires the installation of Sun MPxIO
software on each host system to achieve high-availability, multipath capability.
For more information about multipath options, see the HP multi-path web site:
h
ttp://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/sanworks/multipathoptions/index.html
Operating constraints
You can find information about operating constraints specific to the EVA firmware and HP StorageWorks
Command View EVA (Command View EVA) in their respective release notes.
