Additional Host Considerations

Note: Adding hosts through the Command View EVA software consists of adding each
FCA adapter installed in the host. The first step uses the Add Host function, and each
subsequent adapters use the Add Port function. Ensure that you add a port for each
active FCA.
Note: Enter a name for the cluster in the first step of the Add Host wizard.
5. Continue until all ports have been added for each FCA in each host server
within the cluster.
6. Ensure that the host FCAs have been added by inspecting the Host folder in
the Navigation Tree of Command View EVA.
When you are finished, you should have one host that will present a virtual disk to
each node in the HACMP cluster.
Adding a Virtual Disk to an HACMP Cluster
The steps for creating and adding a virtual disk to an HACMP cluster are the same
as those for a standalone node. The only difference is that you to execute a
cfgmgr -v command on each node in the cluster to add the device definition for
the virtual disk.
Creating a Volume Group on a Virtual Disk
The following example procedure was created on a two node cluster with the
names brutus and miranda.
This procedure does not supersede the procedure outlined in the HACMP
documentation on creating a shared volume group. These steps are just meant as a
guide. Consult your HACMP documentation for any changes on creating a shared
volume group.
Caution: Using C-SPOC for HACMP will not work for Enterprise Virtual Array
devices.
1. Show a list of devices on each node in the cluster to determine which device
you want to create a shared volume group on by issuing the lshsv command
on each node.
