You should be able to add Enterprise Virtual Array virtual disks for you IBM
RS/6000 or pSeries server to use. See “Testing Connectivity to Virtual Disks” on
page 32 for more information.
Uninstalling an Earlier Secure Path Version
See the Secure Path Installation and Configuration guide for upgrade instructions.
Execute the installation procedure for a fresh system install (See “Installing the
IBM AIX Kit” on page 26).
Installing the IBM AIX Kit using SMIT
Use the following procedure to install the IBM AIX V3.0B for Enterprise Virtual
Array:
1. Insert the Platform Kit CD into your CD-ROM.
2. Enter the following command:
# smit install_latest
3. Click List or press F4 when the dialog appears, to list the different devices
that may contain install media.
4. Choose the CD-ROM device (probably /dev/cd0).
5. Click OK.
6. Accept the default values in the next dialog box.
7. Click OK twice to also accept the install the software packages warning
dialog.
SMIT installs all the filesets on the platform kit CD. Once this is done, install
Secure Path (if a multiple path configuration is used) and issue the cfgmgr -v
command to search for new devices.
