Multiple-path support Multiple-path capability is integrated into the HP-UX system. No additional software is required to achieve high-availability, multiple-path capability. You have the following options: • Native multipathing functionality • HP-UX PVLinks multipathing solutions For more information about PVLinks, see your HP-UX operating system documentation. For more information about multipath options, see the HP multi-path website: http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/sanworks/multipathoptions/index.
Secure Path version If you choose to use Secure Path, ensure that you have the latest version for your operating system, available on the HP StorageWorks website: http://h18006.www1.hp.com/storage/index.html Codeload usage When a maximally configured system is running at full load, codeload functionality is not effective because the system may time out before codeload is complete. HP recommends that you always perform VCS upgrades at an off-peak time.
CAUTION: Persistent EVA overload may indicate an overloaded configuration, and additional array host port resources may be required to match the configuration to the actual workload. Consult your HP account or service representative for help to properly configure the EVA for your newly designed or existing configuration. High-availability environment recommendations In high-availability environments with heavy I/O loads, you may experience I/O timeout conditions.
