HP StorageWorks EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option Release Notes (5697-5472, February 2006)
Workaround
Follow the correct iqn name syntax as described in section 3.2.6 of RFC 3720
For Windows—In the initiator GUI, click Reset under Change in the General tab to reset the iqn name to
its original na
me that was created when you installed the initiator.
For Linux—edit
the InitiatorName setting in the /etc/initiatorname.iscsi file using the
correct syntax.
For Linux and Windows—reinstalling the initiator creates a valid iqn name.
Important note—the iSCSI initiator LUNs disappear after changing the initiator iqn name
The mpx100 maintains a d atabase of Targets, Initiators and LUNs and the corresponding links between
them. Whenever Command View presents/unpresents a LUN to an iSCSI initiator it updates the
mpx100’s database. When a new iqn name logs into the mpx100, it is considered a new initiator and
no LUNs are assigned to it. All LUN assignments to the old iqn are still maintained.
Workaround
Using Command View EVA , the LUN must be unpresented from the old initiator iqn and then presented
to the new initiator iqn name. Remove the old initiator from the mpx100 database with either the
mpx100 Manager GUI or the C LI.
Registry settings on Windows iSCSI initiators
Important n

This regis

Workaround
Make the ne cessar y change to the registry or cut and paste the lines below into a text file named
tcp1323opts.reg.

Double-click on the file to add to the registry to the iSCSI initiator.
