404 Error: HP Command View EVA may be initializing
when a browser makes a request. The web returns a 404
(Page Not Found) error because it cannot get the page.

404 Error: A .frm (HTML) file may be missing in the HP
Command View EVA directory structure. This can occur

Reinstall HP C
ommand View EVA.
503 Error: HP Command View EV A may be down when
a browser makes a request. The web server returns a 503
(No Service) error because it cannot a ccess the page.
Retry the request when HP Command View
EVA is up.
Browser timeout: The appliance may be down or the
web server may be unavailable when a browser m akes
arequesttoHPCommandViewEVA.Inthiscase,the
browser will time out internally.
Retry the request when the appliance and
HP Command View EVA are up.
Unknown storage system
Symptom
HP Command View EVA reports an unknown storage system for a storage system that should be
displayed.
Cause of the error
HP Command View EVA may have lost communication with the controllers. Two possible scenarios are:
• The HBA in
the management server m ay have timed out com m a nds to the controllers. See
“Unknow n storage system—cause 1” on page 72 b elow.
• The controllers are running a version of VCS that HP Command View EVA does not recognize.
See “Unk
nownstoragesystem—cause2” on page 72.
Unknown storage system—cause 1
When the fabric is heavily loaded, the FC adapter in the management server may tim e out commands to
the controllers. If this occurs, the storage system appears in the Unknown state.
Corrective Action for Unknown Storage System—Cause 1
This scenario shou ld correct itself in less than one minute. Alternately, you can perform a Rediscover
operation to initiate new commands to the controller.
Unknown storage system—cause 2
HP Comm
and View EVA can only manage controllers that are running suppor ted VCS versions.

Ensure that you are running the HP Command View EVA version that is compatible with VCS 3.110. See
the “EVA software version compatibility” table in the HP StorageWorks EVA software compatibility
reference to determine which version of H P Command View EVA you should be running. Then, upgrade
Command View EVA to a compatible version. See “Required documentation”onpage14forthelink
