HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 3000/5000 updating product software guide (VCS 3.110) (5697-7959, February 2009)
2 Pre-upgrade tasks
There are a number of necessary tasks that can be performed prior to beginning the upgrade. Performing
these tasks prior to, rather than during, the upgrade minimizes the time required to perform the VCS
upgrade procedure.
The required tasks differ depending on your system configuration. They focus on upgrading components
to ensure they meet the supported c on figuration for VCS 3.110. Table 3 provides a checklist so you can
track your progress as you perform these pre-upgrade tasks.
If you’re in a supported configuration running VCS 3.028, the majority of these tasks are considered
optional.
