• HP StorageWorks EVA3K/5K VCS v4.001 system software CD. Also included on this media
is VC S 3.028.
• HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 3000/5000 Documentation CD-ROM
HP StorageWorks Command View EVA 4.1 is required to access all the features and benefits provided
by VCS v4.001.
NOTE:
The EVA3000/5000 ships with VCS 3.028 pre-installed. The EVA3000/5000 Series v4.0 Controller
Media Kit contains both 4.001 and 3.028 system software, enabling you to choose the VCS version
that supports your multipathing configuration.
Upgrading an Enterprise Virtual Array to VCS v4.001
NOTE:
• Because of changes to the metadata structure, you cannot downgrade from VCS v4.001 to VCS
3.028 and retain data on the storage system. A downgrade is only possible on an unini tialized
storage system.
• Upgrading to VCS v4.001 shou ld only be performed by HP service-trained personnel. Contact HP
Customer Services for assistance in upgrading the storage system to VCS v4.001.
HP recommends that you upgrade to VCS v4.001 to realize the benefits included in this release. When
upgra d ing to VCS v4.001, the following conditions must be met:
• The storage system must be at VCS 3.028 to upgrade to VCS v4.001.
