VCS v4.001 provides the following new features and enhancements.

Added featur es
• Support for active/active controller failover, allowing the use of industry popular multipathing
solutions and native host bus adapters.
NOTE:
VCS v4.001 may require reconfiguration of the host sy stems to support active/activ e controller
failover. Contact HP Customer Services for assistance in assessing the impact of VCS v4.001
on your host systems.
• Support for 3-phase snapclones, reducing the amount of time required to create a snapclone
• Support for 1024 virtual disks
• Improved Continuous Access performance over distance
• Added VM ware host mode. It will no longer be necessary to use the custom host mode for
VMware hosts.
NOTE:
To avoid impacting Secure Path oper ation, the internal identification of the controllers has been changed
for VCS v4.001. For VCS v4.001and later firmware, the EVA3000 controller is now identified as
HSV101 and the EVA5000 controller is identified as HSV111.
