The following enhancements are included in this release:
• The command aging default of Mode 0x00 now equals 1.2 seconds.
• The PL OGI r
esponse to Q ueue position and LIP logout has be en corrected.
• Corrections have been made to minim ize Bypass, Abort IOEDC, and Timeout errors during
sequential writes.
• Performan
ce enhancements have been made to address drive hang or asser t conditions.
• N ew assert recovery improvements ensure that the drive provides a check condition and then
returns to normal function.
• Improvem
ents have been made to target-generated LI P (reset) behavior.
• Enhancem ents have been m ade to drive code SMART, error recovery, and sense code techniques.
Prerequisites
To upgrade multiple disk drives online without the data m igration process, you must be running:
• VCS 3.100 or later on EVA3000/5000
• XCS 6.000 or later on EVA4000/6000/8000
• HP Command View EVA 6.0.2 or later
NOTE:

for instructions.
Installation instructions
HP recommends that you use the bundled firmware file to upgrade all hard disk drives rather than
manually upgrade the firmware on an individual disk drive. To upgrade all h ard disk drives:
1. If you have not already done so, download the HP StorageWorks EVA Hard Disk Drive Bundle file.
The file you download from the web is a zip file.
