4 Upgrading the En terprise Vir tual

Thefollowingstepsguideyouthroughtheprocessofupgradingthesystemsoftware. Makesureyou

follow them carefully and in the speciﬁed order. Table 6 on page 24 p rovides an overview of the upgrade

tasks. Makesureyouhavealltheitemsspeciﬁed before beginning the upgrade.

NOTE:

The online upgrade procedure is supported when upgrading from VCS 4.00x. The online upgrade

requires a 60 second controller resynch during which the storage system is unavailable. Applications

must be able to accommodate this interval.

The upgrade procedure contains the following steps:
