HP StorageWorks 3000/5000 Enterprise Virtual Array release notes (VCS 3.110) (5697-8109, March 2009)

An issue has been addressed which could cause unrecoverable errors during a VRAID1 reconstruct
process leading to an inoperative state of the disk group.
An issue where scheduling of work twice in a background process could lead to inconsistent unit
state has been addressed.
An issue where an incorrect unit state could be caused by an erroneous flag set at startup has
been addressed.
An issue which caused host time-outs in HP Continuous Access EVA during snapshot creation has
been addressed.
An issue which prevented access to virtual disks by HP OpenVMS hosts after a site failover in HP
Continuous Access EVA configuration has been addressed.
Controller crash issues
Management commands which are used to gather VDisk status data could lead to a controller
restart due to a resource allocation issue. This issue has been addressed.
A snapshot creation operation that led to a overcommit state within the array may led to a controller
restart in some instances. This issue has been addressed.
An issue where an errant response from a disk drive led to a controller termination has been ad-
dressed.
An issue that led to a controller restart when code load operations were performed during HP
Continuous Access EVA activity has been addressed.
An issue which caused a controller termination due to a site failover, occurring before a disk group
was brought online, has been addressed.
An issue which caused a controller termination with loop recovery operations and device discovery
operations occurring at the same time has been addressed.
An issue resulting in controller restart during storing or retrieval of LUN numbers has been ad-
dressed.
An issue of nonsequential execution of commands which results in a controller restart has been
addressed.
An issue of reuse of host port data structures resulting in a controller restart has been addressed.
An issue which could, under certain instances, lead to a controller termination due to accessing
unallocated memory address in the policy memory has been addressed.
During time synchronization process in HP Continuous Access EVA environment, if group creation
or deletion tasks are scheduled, it leads to controller restart. This issue has been addressed.
In HP Continuous Access EVA configurations consisting of EVA3000/5000 source units and
EVA4000/6000/8000 destination unit DR groups, an issue which may lead to controller termin-
ation due to removing a DR group member with which snapshots are associated has been ad-
dressed.
An issue where controller termination could result from access to a LUN that is being removed
from a DR Group has been addressed.
